Clyde Neace, the younger
brother of HSFL hall of famer Josh Neace, made his debut in 2001. Clyde was pulled out of his regular job as an official
to play for Team 1 during Week 8. He showed signs of being a defensive presence in his debut, and scored his first career
touchdown on a fumble recovery. Neace was eventually sent back to officiating before the game ended, but definitely
made an impression on the league management. After months of speculation, it appears that Clyde will be a full
time player in 2002. He returned to action in Week 3 and scored 3 touchdowns. After a solid start to the 2002
season, Clyde didn't even finish the year due to basketball season approaching. The same reason has kept Clyde off of
the opening day rosters for 2003, and nobody knows when, or if, the younger Neace will ever rejoin his brother.
