Josh Coons is one of the
most intimidating physical presences to ever step onto Senior Field at Glover Bowl. Hobart High School's starting center
on the football team is only out-matched by former Hobart center Trent Overturf and Rob Damron as far as being the largest
player in HSFL history. Coons made his HSFL debut in the league's first Spring game in 2002. Coons was recruited
by the HSFL all winter, and finally agreed to play for the league. He has good speed for his size, and crushes opponents
with regularity and severity. While he was expected to be the Rookie of the Year in 2002, he got injured in a varsity
game playing at Michigan City, and missed a few games losing his shot at the award. Coons has since departed for Wabash,
and has lost his spot in the HSFL.
