John Allendorf is one of, if not, the most highly anticipated prospect in recent years in the HSFL.  He made his debut in Week 3 of the 2001 season.  Allendorf is a tremendous athlete who has great speed and good hands.  John also has a good arm and threw a touchdown pass in his debut.  Many people feel he won't take a hit during the early points in the season due to his soccer career, and recent rumors have him sitting out to start the 2002 season to focus on his Senior year.  Allendorf has proven that his soccer background makes him the best kicker in the league.  He puts the ball wherever he wants every time including several perfect onside kicks.  Allendorf provides a truly unique package of talent and could have a bright future in the HSFL.  Allendorf has already shown signs of just exactly why his future is so bright, becoming one of the league's best possession receivers.  He has good speed, great hands, and those talents helped him capture the 2001 Rookie of the Year Award.  Allendorf appeared to be on the fast track to HSFL stardom, but he played only a few games in 2002, and is not on the league's roster as a full-time player due to his soccer career at Valparaiso University for 2003.  Spud will always hang around the league, but his once sure-fire shot at being one of the all-time greats seems to have faded.
